Why do I need a professional coach?

… This time, I’m going to workout every day, I’m going to stick to the program. This time it’s going to be different, I know it is.

We’re all full of great intentions: Intentions to wake up at 6 a.m. and start running. Intentions to begin P90X after work three days a week. Intentions to start going to the gym regularly…

The most motivated among us can manage it for a bit, but most of us fall off pretty quick because we either get bored, we soon lose motivation and start hitting snooze, we don’t see many gains and wonder why we’re missing out on sleep to run in the rain, or we realize we don’t really know what to do at the gym and we’re tired of guessing what to do, knowing we’re probably doing it all wrong anyway.

So basically your lack of success in fitness comes down to one of four things:

Lack of accountability, or dwindling motivation, causes dwindling commitment.

Lack of coaching leaves you feeling confused about what to do, and therefore adds to your lack of accountability.

Lack of a systematic program stops you from working on the right things, meaning you don’t move forward and see fitness gains.

Lack of community adds to the increasing dwindling motivation, or at the very least makes you feel bored and alone and not enjoying the process.

1. PROFESSIONAL COACH:

With us, you will receive a professional coach—a consistent pro coach in your corner—to help you with your fitness, performance, nutrition, and even life coaching. You will begin by doing one-on-one training with a professional coach, and will eventually do a combination of group classes and one-on-one coaching, keeping your relationship with your coach alive and thriving, ultimately keeping you committed and accountable to your various goals. You might have had great trainers before, but if you haven’t had a pro coach you owe it to yourself and your health to have one in your corner and experience the difference.

2. PROGRAM

With us, you’ll follow a systematic, functional fitness program that has been proven to help people see fitness gains they didn’t think were possible. Have you always dreamed of having the strength to do a pull-up? We will help you.

3. COMMUNITY

Corny as it sounds, it’s impossible to train with us and not make friends. Sweating together in group classes bonds people in a unique way. Being around other people looking to get fitter, eat better, be better, is contagious, inspiring and motivating and goes a long way in ensuring you stay committed. Throw in social events and you have a new social friend circle to experience life with. It also can’t be overstated, the company you keep will dictate the life choices you make. Do you think you’re more likely to be healthy surrounding yourself with the same friends from work at happy hours eating nachos and drinking margaritas, or your group of new friends who prioritize health and fitness? New studies show that you’re more likely to become obese simply by having a friend who gains weight. The same study also showed that people around friends who lost weight tended to also lose weight. We’re not saying ditch your overweight friends, but again, the importance of the company you keep can’t be overstated enough.

4. ACCOUNTABILITY

The combination of having a professional coach in your corner, a program and that actually works, and a reason to come to the gym—to hang out with your friends—suddenly fitness becomes less work, more fun, turning the gym into an automatic staple in your life that you’ don’t even think about. Matt Markiewicz

COACH

Matt began his journey into fitness playing football and rugby in high school. He truly fell in love with health and wellness after losing 150lbs and becoming a lifelong learner in all things movement. He pursued this love by going on to get his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Matt has experience in bodybuilding, powerlifting, athletic performance training, and yoga. He has also worked as a rehab technician in a Physical Therapy Clinic.Matt is excited to share his passion for living a healthy life and fitness with the CrossFit Rep community.

Ross Coskrey

Head Coach

Ross found CrossFit in 2017. After lifelong sports background, CrossFit was the perfect way to fill the competitive void that had been left in his life, and to feel like an athlete again!

Ross has been competing in CrossFit athlete the past few years but after an injury, he now finds himself enjoying just being active and building lifelong friendships through the fantastic community that CrossFit creates, epseically at REP!

Ross earned his Kinesiology degree from Texas State University and has been personal training and coaching for the last 7 years.

Jake Hill

Owner & Coach

Jake found CrossFit in Philadelphia in 2012, and immediately fell in love. He quickly began his internship at CrossFit Love, one of Philadelphia’s most esteemed gyms, and has been coaching for over 5 years now. He has a thirst for knowledge and truth that continues to drive the culture at REP.

Jake is Breakdancer of 15 years (also a Breakdance instructor), and has extensive gymnastics knowledge https://www.instagram.com/jakenastix/. Jake believes that helping people improve their fitness and quality of life is his life’s work, and is thrilled to be doing so back in his hometown of Austin TX.

HOLD POLICY

Month-to-Month Membership Agreements and Annual Membership Agreements: You may place your Membership on hold two (2) times per calendar year up to three (3) consecutive months each time. Advanced notice of at least two (2) business days is required. The hold must be 30 days in duration at a minimum and 30 days must elapse between holds. Upon expiration of the term of the hold, your account will automatically become active and payments will resume. Should you choose to return prior to the end of their hold period, the hold will be released and payments will resume.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All membership agreements require 30-days written notice to cancel your membership. This form will serve as your 30-days written cancellation notice. Note that if you have a scheduled renewal payment within 30-days of your invoice billing date, the payment will be processed as scheduled. Your membership will be canceled at the end of your final paid month. All payments are non-refundable. All grandfathered membership rates will also be forfeited and returning members will be subject to current rates.
